Maybe by 2019 and any teething issues are hopefully taken care of and assuming the Accord Sport with a 6 speed isn’t outrageously priced...I’d consider picking one up. Not crazy on the looks but I think black would help a lot as would different wheels and some form of chrome delete (paint, dip, different trim, etc).

Just too large for my taste. I just can’t stand the seating position in full size sedans. But I also drove an FRS and felt like it had “mini-van level practicality” so obviously an Accord is a giant land yacht to me. I do quite like the Accord coupes from the last gen, or maybe the one before that. They just look really nice, especially in the V6 models.

Ummm, how did you feel an FRS had mini-van level practicality?

The chrome forehead needs to go. That is my biggest complaint about the new Honda corporate face.

It look 100000X better than the mess of the new Camry

I may get one after I pay the TSX off.

Also, actual knobs for volume and tuning! People, if you don’t buy this car, you are part of the problem.
Edit: Also, the Civic Sport gives the chrome the blackout treatment. There is hope.

I swear to Jeebus, good seating position is disappearing from modern cars faster than just about any other driver-oriented characteristic. Even cars that have no excuse like the 370Z still have these cushy lay-z-boy recliners that you can never get low enough in the car.
The FR-S is one of the few exceptions to this rule we’ve experienced. Lots of other cars are terrible in this regard. Ford Mustang, Chevy Camaro, BMW 135i, they’re all completely shit. And those are
sporty
cars. As soon as you get into more boring sedans and crossovers the problem becomes truly hellish.
It feels like the seating position in these vehicles is set up for stare-at-your-phone-in-your-lap posture rather than keep-your-hands-on-the-wheel-and-fucking-drive posture.

This gallery has a front-end shot, but it’s hard to tell if this is blacked out or just really poor lighting.

I’d have an Oppo Honda twin!

The current Sport is $24,515. I would expect the new base Sport to come in around the same, and the 2.0T Sport in the upper-$20s, like $27,500.

Ooh I like it.

This angle hides the awkward C-pillar chrome detail, nice. That (plastic) chrome front bar needs to go.

I mean, you can fit a whole extra wheel/tire set in there.

Exactly this. Compared to what I’m used to, that sounds like luxury!

By 2019 you may be able to get a used ss for around 27k, maybe even a Genesis. Lots of cars will move into new Accord prices very soon

Well its all relative. I only have one car and its a Miata. Sure I have made it work for all of my road trip, camping, skiing, and autocross needs but I could do all of that and more with an FRS and still have plenty of space for a passenger. There was just so much leg room and shoulder room and yet it still drove exactly like my Miata does.
Obviously my perspective is whack so anything with that much space inside is obscenely practical to me.

I’m still a little unclear and confused about why they killed the Crosstour (originally the “Accord Crosstour”) a couple years ago. I’m starting to think it was just to get the market ready for the new Accord, which is just a new Crosstour. So weirdly ironic.

And besides, you can always throw on a hitch
(Not my car)

It depends on the car. It was pretty decent in the C7 Corvette I drove. And actually, the Infiniti Q40 adjusted to a really nice position. It definitely started out TERRIBLE with my head in the roof and all sorts of bad. But once I figured out how to lower the seat to the floor and upright enough to hold the steering wheel, it wasnt bad at all.

Well once I live somewhere that wont tow trailers away, I would put one on my Miata too. Although I feel kinda sketched out towing anything with such a light, short wheel base car. But a tiny tire trailer would be excellent. Then I can put a spoiler on the car too and live out my race car dreams!

Oh yes, definitely just a 4' x 4‘ trailer. They’re becoming very popular.

I kinda like it. It reminds me of the 80's accord.

The reason for the seating position is one of the main reasons CUVs are so popular. Ease of getting into and out of the vehicle.

I’ve added it to my list along with the Stinger and Regal GS. It doesn’t have the liftback, but the manual and most likely much lower cost are attractive.

Easy fix

I expect anywhere between 26-30 for a Sport with a 2.0 and a 6 speed, which I’m okay with

Assuming I’m still at my current job by 2019, I don’t need a SS for my daily commute

I will buy an accord 2.0 sport with a 6 speed

Ugh, thats for old people. Gotta keep myself limber so that I never need to resort to that.
![]() 07/17/2017 at 11:59 |

Yes, me too. I honestly haven’t been this excited about a car that I could actually buy without pissing off my wife in a very long time. The 2.0T/6MT sounds like everything I want in a car. It’s like the 2011 2.0T/6MT VW CC that I absolutely loved but couldn’t quite pull the trigger on, but with Honda build quality. I love it. Hopefully it drives as good as it sounds and the price won’t be too crazy. I mean, as much as I love it, I really can’t swing more than $30k.

Does anyone need a fun Australian sports sedan? It’s for the hell of it
![]() 07/17/2017 at 12:22 |

I wouldn’t be OK with $30, but I would be ok if I could drive off the dealer lot with one for $25k.
![]() 07/17/2017 at 12:49 |

Same, I’d quicker to pull the trigger on it if I can get close to 25/26

I assume the chrome will be blacked out on the Sport trim like on the Civic.
In the meantime, I photoshopped a piece of black trim under the dangling C-pillar chrome to make it look more finished.

It’s still weird but maybe less bad?

I actually really like this. But I also thing the CTR is beautiful so I’m kinda weird that way.
